Two New Resources to Counter Misinformation about Reading Recovery
To counter media misinformation surrounding Reading Recovery, the North American Trainers Group (NATG) has developed two new resources for the Reading Recovery Community. The first, Understanding Reading Recovery: A Comprehensive Model of Instruction offers an in-depth look at literacy processing theory as a comprehensive literacy framework and explores its differences from a three-cueing model. The second, Reading Recovery Instruction in Phonics and Word Reading, examines how Reading Recovery emphasizes phonics in lessons.
Share these resources widely! We hope these tools will help empower our members to effectively advocate for individualized instruction in their schools and communities.
