Reading Recovery-sponsored conferences provide outstanding professional development opportunities for K-6 classroom teachers and Reading Recovery professionals. All conferences offer research-based sessions led by literacy experts.
The annual National Reading Recovery & K-6 Literacy Conference offers high-quality professional development from the nation’s leading early literacy experts. More than 100 sessions focus on literacy instruction and quality children’s literature, with an emphasis on effective practices to improve student learning. The 2020 National Reading Recovery & K-6 Literacy Conference will be held February 8-11 in Columbus, OH. Keynotes Speakers: Adria Klein, Douglas Reeves, and Nikki Grimes. Early registration will open in May.
Audio and video recordings of previous National Conference presenters are available for purchase from our recording partner, Dove Audio Visual. These low-cost conference session recordings offer a variety of topics that benefit all K-6 literacy educators and are excellent resources for continuing professional development.
The annual Teacher Leader Institute provides professional development for teacher leaders with sessions that focus on the interlocking components that make Reading Recovery and DLL work effectively. The 2019 Reading Recovery Teacher Leader Institute will be held June 11-14 in Greenville, SC.
Regional conferences are planned and sponsored by state and regional Reading Recovery personnel and by university training centers. Registration and additional information is available from contacts listed. The International Reading Recovery Institute is held every 3 years.
